Our Pre-K class worked on social and emotional skills (practicing empathy) by sending letters to soldiers in the U.S. Military. They learned that there are many men and women who protect our country as well as our rights and freedoms. Their teachers explained to them that the troops who are deployed sometimes get home sick and feel sad. To show how much they care, the children drew pictures and wrote notes to several soldiers in order to cheer them up and brighten their day.
